Matt Baker was named President of Coldwell Banker Burnet in May 2017. Baker leads the operations of the company’s 22 offices and nearly 1,800 affiliated sales associates in Minneapolis-St. Paul, St. Cloud and Rochester, Minnesota as well as western Wisconsin.
A lifelong resident of Minneapolis, Matt began his real estate career in 1983. He joined the management team in 1986 and became Branch Vice President of the Minneapolis Lakes office in 1990. Matt was instrumental in transforming “the Lakes” office from a neighborhood boutique into a dynamic regional sales office with an annual production of more than $1 billion. Under his leadership, the Minneapolis Lakes office was regularly recognized as NRT’s top office in the nation in number of homes sold. Before becoming President, Baker served as a Senior Vice President for Coldwell Banker Burnet, overseeing the Minneapolis and St. Paul city offices.
Prior to beginning his real estate career, Matt received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Colorado College and attended graduate school courses in the MBA program at the University of St. Thomas.
Baker is a member of the Minneapolis Area Association of Realtors®, the Minnesota Association of Realtors® and the National Association of Realtors®. He has served on MAAR’s board of directors and executive committee and as MAAR's treasurer in 2004. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Minnesota Business Partnership and for the National Association of Realtors® where he serves on the Federal Taxation Committee. Matt is married and has one son.
